Wyckoff

Located along the 208 corridor, Wyckoff borders 8 different towns and cities. Established in the mid-18th century this fine town offers residents boutique stores, fine dining and a short commute to New York City.

The Wyckoff School District is comprised of four elementary schools, Coolidge Elementary (K-5), Lincoln Elementary (K-5), Sicomac Elementary (K-5), and Washington Elementary (K-5). National Blue Ribbon of Excellence Award winner Eisenhower Middle School serves grade levels 6th through 8th. Students in the town of Wyckoff attend either Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School (also serves students from Oakland and Franklin Lakes) or Ramapo High School, subject to the student’s choice made in 8th grade.

Public transportation provides a local bus service on the 752 route, operating between Oakland and Hackensack and additional bus service to Port Authority Bus Terminal, New York. Neighboring towns, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Mahwah, Ho-ho-kus, Allendale provide train service to New York Penn Station and Hoboken.

Ridgewood

Located approximately 20 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan, this quintessential suburb town is known for their bustling downtown with well over 60 restaurants and boutique shops. Street fairs are held throughout the year on the main Ridgewood Avenue along with the annual 4th of July parade and holiday tree lighting festivities.

The Ridgewood public schools consist of nine schools along with pre-school program and private day care center. There are seven elementary schools including Glen School (also pre-school and day care), Hawes School, Ridge School, Somerville School, Orchard School, Travell School and Willard School. Ridgewood has wo middle schools, Benjamin Franklin Middle School and George Washington Middle School, and one high school. Ridgewood train station is on the Main/Bergen- Port Jervis Line of NJTransit with trains running from Port Jervis to Hoboken. With a quick transfer at Secaucus, your commute to New York Penn Station is a breeze. Express trains are also available at the Ridgewood train station. Ramsey

Train town located 26 miles Northwest of Midtown Manhattan, Ramsey is one of Bergen Counties most sought after towns. Established over 3 centuries ago, Ramsey was a place of convenience for those working in the iron mines of Sterling and Ringwood. Today, this quaint town is convenient for its easy access to both Northern NJ and New York City. The 6-square-mile borough is home to over 14,500 residents, 3 parks, Ramsey Golf and Country Club, numerous ponds and streams and a number of county and state parks. If you are looking for that quintessential small town feel look no further. Main Street in Ramsey offers many different shops, restaurants, salons and just about anything else you would need.

Known for their superior school system, Ramsey has 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school and a high school. More than 97% of the students moving through the Ramsey school system go on to higher education. Ramsey is also home to St. Paul’s Roman Catholic elementary school and Don Bosco Prep, secondary school.

Ramsey Train Station is part of the Main/Bergen- Port Jervis NJTransit line, making the commute into New York Penn Station a breeze. There is also the option to take the train to Hoboken where you can jump in the Path Train or Ferry into NYC. Parking is available to Ramsey residents for a small fee.

Paramus

Located approximately 15 miles from Midtown Manhattan Paramus is a thriving town to reside in. With 10.5-square-miles to its name, Paramus is not only known for its five malls but also two county parks and four golf courses. Van Saun Park has Bergen County’s only zoo and a Saddle River County Park has a gorgeous 6-mile bike path.

Paramus school district is comprised of five elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school. “Paramus Public Schools, built on a tradition of excellence and innovation, in partnership with its community, empowers students to succeed as global citizens who add value to the world.” Paramus is also home to Visitation Academy, a private Roman Catholic PreK – 8th Grade school as well as Paramus Catholic a private Roman Catholic High School. There are also two Jewish day schools, Yavneh Academy and Yeshivat Noam as well as Frisch School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish yeshiva serving grades 9–12 that describes itself as the nation's second largest coed yeshiva high school.

Many Paramus residents are New York City commuters. Within the town limits there are over ten bus lines that provide service to New York Port Authority as well as the George Washington Bridge. On top of the NYC service there are many local bus routes as well.

Franklin Lakes

Franklin Lakes is located in Bergen County, bordered by Mahwah, Oakland and Wyckoff. A very prestigious town, Franklin Lakes has a median home price of $1.3 million. This is the home to many parks and lakes including Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve where you can fish, kayak, canoe, paddleboard and hike. Parsons Pond Park is also located in Franklin Lakes. “Parson Pond Park was acquired by the Borough in 2016. The 84 acre park features open fields, a baseball/softball field, ponds and streams, and walking paths through natural wooded areas, with ample parking.”

Franklin Lakes offers many programs for all of its residents. As a resident of Franklin Lakes, 55 and over, you are invited to join the Senior Citizens Club. They meet the first and third Wednesday of every month for lunch and refreshments. They also offer day and overnight trips. For the younger residents Franklin Lakes has summer camps and the Franklin Lakes Community Center. “The FCLC offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, exercise classes, massage and program classes for teens, adults and seniors, as well as baby sitting services while members work out or attend a program class.”

“The Franklin Lakes School District develops in students a life-long commitment to learning, a sense of personal and social responsibility, healthy self-esteem, and a respect and appreciation of diversity.” The Franklin Lakes School District is made up of three elementary schools and one middle schools. Students then have the choice of attending Ramapo Hills High School or Indian Hills High School. Franklin Lakes is also home to Most Blessed Sacrament, a Roman Catholic K-8 elementary school which has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2016.

Franklin Lakes has one bus route that provides local service. Although they are not a train town, many of the bordering towns have trains and buses that can easily be used to commute into New York City.

Mahwah

The Township of Mahwah is a 26.7 square mile ideal suburban community situated to take advantage of the natural beauty of the picturesque Ramapo Mountains and the crystal clear Ramapo River on its northwestern border. The historic Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) as well as State Highway Route 17 and Interstate Highway 287 cross through its boundaries. Mahwah is a natural route northward from New York City, a mere 30 miles away, has easy access to air and rail transportation, and is bordered by the towns of Upper Saddle River, Ramsey, Allendale, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Ringwood, New Jersey, and Suffern in New York.

As the largest municipality in Bergen County, Mahwah has more open space than any other town in Bergen County. It has a wide range of housing including charming Cape Cods, stately historic homes, townhouse and condominium communities and million-dollar mansions. Mahwah has been able to keep its small town character while attracting commercial enterprises. Many large corporations such as Datascope, Jaguar, Stryker, Seiko, and UPS have chosen Mahwah as their corporate home. The bucolic campus of Ramapo College is also located in the Township.

Mahwah students continue to outperform their peers from across the state on state assessments demonstrating that they are meeting the benchmarks of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Mahwah also takes pride in the number of Advanced Placement courses offered at the high school, its music and art programs available to students throughout the district, its athletic programs offered at the high school, and its commitment to community service initiatives. Additionally, the number of Mahwah graduates taking Advanced Placement tests continues to rise, and the number of students that go on to formal post graduate study is at an all time high.

Glen Rock

Glen Rock is a relatively small community of approximately 12,000 residents in only an area of about 2.7 square miles. Located just 22 miles west of New York City makes it easy for commuting to New York City for work or for pleasure, yet allows the enjoyment of a small town. With its beautiful tree lined streets, Glen Rock is a vibrant, thriving town comprised of residents of many different ages, backgrounds and interests. The town is particularly beautiful in the spring and fall and has several parks and many recreation al fields, as well as the Thielke Arboretum, which has a beautiful gazebo and fountain for enjoying the outdoors.

There are many, many active groups for adults in sports, the arts, community service, special groups for senior citizens and with the many faith based communities located in town. Some of the highlights during the year include the Family Fun Fair held each June, the Fall Street Fair, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Glen Rock, the Independence Association’s annual parade, the Memorial parade, an annual September 11 tribute, 5K runs hosted by the Jaycees, and food drives and blood drives hosted by Women in Community Service.

Glen Rock is very unique in that it has two New Jersey Transit stations:
• Glen Rock Boro Hall Station is located at Harding Plaza between Maple Avenue and Rock Road
• Glen Rock Main Line Station is located on Rock Road near Main Street

Allendale

Allendale is a train town in Bergen County with a population of 6,505 according to the 2010 census. Allendale is home to the "Celery Farm," a nature preserve that is home to hundreds of animals, including fox, deer, rabbits, frogs, turtles, rodents, and most notably exotic birds. There is a variety of recreation opportunities throughout the borough, including Crestwood Park, which covers 71 acres (29 ha) and includes a man-made lake with three diving boards, three beaches, and six swim lanes. Included in the Park is a recreational barn, three baseball / softball fields, two soccer / football fields, a lacrosse field, and four tennis courts.

Allendale’s school districts have earned and maintained a reputation of excellence by providing diverse learning opportunities for students. Hillside Elementary School, pre-k to grade three, and Brookside Middle School, grades 4-8, educate nearly 1,000 students. Additionally, Northern Highlands Regional High School provides an innovative and challenging environment in academics, athletics and the arts for over 1,300 students from Allendale and our three surrounding communities.

NJ Transit provides train service at the Allendale station located at Allendale Avenue, Myrtle Avenue and Park Avenue. There are two ticket vending machines and a shelter at the southbound platform, with an underpass to transfer between the northbound and southbound platforms. he station provides service on both Main Line and Bergen County Line trains. The lines offer service to Hoboken Terminal, with transfers available at Secaucus Junction to Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan and to most of New Jersey Transit's other train lines.

Saddle River

Wandell is a small, public school serving students in preschool through grade 5. After commencement, students attend Eric S. Smith Middle School, in Ramsey, NJ. Upon 8th grade promotion, students have two options for high schools: Ramsey High School or Northern Highlands Regional. Wandell School strives for personalized instruction focused on innovation and advanced learning approaches based on student ability and aptitude, while giving children a foundation of support and confidence so they are ready to move onto middle school. All stakeholders are active members of the educational experience. We are one, big family inspiring academic excellence, character development and social and emotional growth.

Saddle River is served mainly by Route 17, which runs directly through the borough, but certain portions are served by locations in Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, Upper Saddle River, and Allendale. The Garden State Parkway is within a short distance of the borough at exit 171 in Woodcliff Lake.

Upper Saddle River

Nestled on the Passaic River is the borough of New Providence. It's a picturesque place that sits right on the slopes of Second Watchung Mountain, giving it beautiful surroundings that residents are lucky enough to see every day. Woodlands, rivers, creeks and beautiful green spaces combine to make this community a pleasure to live in.

Hoboken

Rural beauty and a central location make Upper Saddle River an excellent place to live. Beautiful homes on large treed lots offer a peaceful and private setting with major highways, mass transportation, shopping and entertainment just moments away. Originally a rural farming town, much of the history of Upper Saddle River has been preserved, adding to the borough’s charm. Sites such as Borough Hall, originally the one-room school house, the Cultural Center and the Hopper-Goetschius Museum are landmarks. The Upper Saddle River Historic Preservation Commission has registered many historic homes and sites in town and has installed commemorative plaques.

Upper Saddle River is known for its excellent school system for Kindergarten through 8th grade, and is a part of the Northern Highlands Regional High School, one of the most highly regarded high schools in the state. The Upper Saddle River Library, in addition to all types of information, provides state-of-the- art technology and a wide variety of programming for children and adults. Residents of all ages enjoy a strong sports and recreation program with a variety of annual events. Short Line offers limited service from stops on Lake Street and Saddle River Road between the borough and the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.
